Should I have had the "Sequential Output Test button" selected? Has anyone had luck priming the pump using the first (Block 35) method?Ģ. I don't think I did that, I think I ran mine as "Selective Output Test" and alternated between the two myself. It started this time.Īny idea what I might have done wrong? I noticed now that the picture on MyTurboDiesel has the "Sequential Output Test" button selected. So, as a last resort, I filled the canister with fresh diesel and closed the housing. So I ran this procedure again for a few more cycles. The fuel filter had a little fuel in it but not much. I did each test separately about six times each. So I closed it up and tried the other VCDS procedure: 01-Engine->Output Tests->Fuel Pump Relay Control Circuit and then the 01-Engine->Output Tests->Relay for Auxiliary Fuel Pump. So I opened the filter back up and found it was dry. Tried starting the car and it just cranked and wouldn't start. I could hear both fuel pumps running and I did the procedure three times for 60 seconds each. After I finished, I primed the fuel pump using VCDS by selecting 01-Engine->Basic Settings->Block 35->On. I have the newer, narrow mouth style filter. I changed my fuel filter today and cleaned out the canister.
